A workforce that is aware of the laws and our Standards tends to lessen the risk of noncompliance. In several major factories, we have worked with suppliers on programs that concentrate on educating workers on their rights and coaching factory management to create effective internal grievance procedures.
We have collaborated with internationally recognized non-governmental organizations (NGO) to provide monitoring services to our suppliers in Vietnam and Indonesia. Training is also provided by this NGO on a regular basis. Workers can contact the NGO or reach out to Kate Spade & Company if they have any questions or to report issues.
Factories must submit a corrective action plan addressing each issue of noncompliance found during our audits. After our internal team conducts an audit, they follow up with factory management to ensure that a corrective action plan is submitted which requires the factory to determine the root cause of the issue and detail how they will remediate.
